Setting up file sharing across subnets

To make file sharing across subnets work smoothly for your Windows users, follow these steps:
1 Open Mac OS Server Admin and log on to the server you want to administer.
2 Press the File Services button and choose Configure File Server.
    3 Click the Windows tab.
4 Check the Server Name box to make sure the server name is the AppleShare IP server's unqualified DNS name.
5 Type the workgroup name in the Workgroup box.
If you have Windows NT domains on your subnet, use one of them as the workgroup name to make it easier for clients to communicate across subnets. Otherwise, consult your Windows network administrator for the correct name.
6 If your network has a WINS (Windows Internet Name Service) server, select "Register with WINS server". Then enter the IP address or Internet domain name of the WINS server.
